In an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour last year ,Mille mentioned how homeschooling worked well for her because it allowed flexibility while pursuing academic excellence. She went ahead to mention how while some may think homeschoolers miss out socially, she believed if anything, homeschooling allows for more opportunities to engage with people from all walks of life.

“I think it’s a great way to learn because you can focus, and you’re not being distracted by anything else. And I love that about homeschooling,” she said. “I’m learning at my own pace, and I don’t have to worry about keeping up with others.”

Through her acting career, Millie has been fortunate enough to travel the world and experience different cultures firsthand. She believes these experiences have broadened her knowledge beyond textbooks and contributed significantly to her education.

Millie’s passion for education extends far beyond herself; she wants every child in the world to have access to quality education regardless of their background or circumstances.

In 2016, Millie became an ambassador for UNICEF -the United Nations Children’s Fund- which is dedicated towards providing humanitarian aid and developmental assistance to children worldwide. Her role as an ambassador involves fundraising efforts through social media campaigns and advocating on behalf of children who are denied their right to education.

In November 2019, Millie launched a brand called Florence by Mills aimed at providing clean beauty products made specifically for teenagers. The name Florence was inspired by Brown’s great-grandmother while Mills came from Brown’s nickname given by friends. She also partnered with Samsung Electronics America Inc. on launching a new digital campaign #FindYourFlow empowering young women in science technology engineering arts & math (STEAM) programs across the United States showcasing how they’re using tech in creative ways making STEAM accessible even during the pandemic
