Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Contributions to Alternative Schooling and Education

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been a part of the public eye for quite some time now. While their relationship has garnered endless media attention, it’s important to focus on their contributions to alternative schooling and education.

In 2015, Kanye West announced his plan to start a university called “Donda’s House” named after his late mother. The school was meant to provide free music production classes and mentorship programs for at-risk youth in Chicago. Although there were some setbacks along the way, Donda’s House eventually evolved into Art of Culture Inc., a non-profit organization that still provides educational opportunities to young people in underserved communities.

Kim Kardashian also made her own mark in the world of education when she became an advocate for justice reform. In 2018, she successfully lobbied President Trump to grant clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a great-grandmother who had been serving life without parole since 1996 for a first-time drug offense. Through this experience, Kim became more involved in criminal justice reform efforts and began studying law as an apprentice with hopes of becoming a lawyer herself.

While they may not be traditional educators or academics, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have used their platforms to make positive changes in the world of alternative schooling and education. Their dedication towards providing access to educational opportunities is something we can all admire and strive towards as well.
